There are a number of promising recruits in this 2m4f novice hurdle, not least Sizeable Sam who will make a great chaser, but the value could lie with the Colin Tizzard-trained Furkash. Third in his sole point-to-point run, Furkash showed good promise when a staying-on fifth in a Fontwell maiden hurdle in October before beating a talented sort in Lord Baddesley when last seen at the same track. He looked likely to be second best for much of that race but his stamina came to the fore in the straight and he fended off his chief market rival in grim fashion. The step up in trip is a huge plus and although he has to give weight away to some exciting prospects, he is fancied to put his experience to good use.
