He was sent off a well-backed favourite that day and grimly clung onto the lead for a long way before being overhauled by three rivals in the final 100 yards. Given he is out of a Hard Spun mare called Arsheef, who won on the all-weather in her racing career, the switch to a synthetic surface could bring about further improvement.
