The Punt Daily: Robbie Wilders with four wagers at Sandown on Saturday

EACH-WAY PLAY

Whizz Kid(1.50 Sandown)

Thrown in at the deep end on his first run for the Richard Newland stable in the Grade 1 Tolworth Novices' Hurdle and it was no surprise he found the likes of Constitution Hill too strong. Whizz Kid impressed on his next two outings with novice victories at Ludlow and Catterick and might have experienced a bit of a culture shock when fourth in a red-hot handicap hurdle at Aintree on his last start. That was his handicap debut but he didn't jump fluently and if he has come on for the experience he should have a big say back in a novice race off a 1lb higher mark. This is slightly less competitive and Sam Twiston-Davies taking over in the saddle from an apprentice is a plus.

GOOD THING

Saint Calvados (2.25 Sandown)

I think Saint Calvados deserves to be favourite in the Oaksey Chase. He is 2-1 up on Mister Fisher in meetings this season (off level weights) yet receives 6lb, and this intermediate trip is probably perfect for him. This low-mileage nine-year-old is more consistent than his form figures suggest and Mister Fisher is simply too unreliable to support at a short price, while Erne River has a little too much to find and Nuts Well probably shouldn't be good enough. This is the weakest race Saint Calvados has contested in well over two years and I like his claims.

BANKER

Nube Negra (3.00 Sandown)

Nube Negra is another confident selection in the Celebration Chase. Greaneteen will have plenty of supporters as his record at Sandown is outstanding (211 in Grade 1 chases), but all of those impressive efforts have come off the back of recent runs. The 76-day layoff after flopping at the Dublin Racing Festival is therefore not ideal and Nube Negra is better suited to running fresh. His record in chases following breaks of 63 days or more reads 12121 and Dan Skelton is taken to earn his first Grade 1 strike of the season on the final day.

EACH-WAY PLAY

Streets Of Doyen(3.32 Sandown)

The bet365 Gold Cup is wide open but a chance is taken on Streets Of Doyen at a double-figure price. Streets Of Doyen runs off a mark only 1lb higher than his Irish rating and he is still quite unexposed over fences. He was among the best staying novice hurdlers around last campaign, finishing third in the Albert Bartlett and fourth in the Sefton at Aintree, and he will relish this ground. You can draw a line through his last run in the Brown Advisory behind L'Homme Presse as he doesn't like soft ground and a marathon test could be exactly what Streets Of Doyen needs for the same connections who bagged the Scottish Champion Hurdle three weeks ago.
