This looks a good opportunity for After John to record a second win. The son of Dutch Art made an eyecatching debut when rattling home to grab third at Salisbury in April behind Oxted (now rated 105). He was second to subsequent Coronation Stakes third Jubiloso, who was unlucky not to win the Oak Tree Stakes on Friday, on his next start. He made up for that next time when winning comfortably at Pontefract, and the second, Qutob, and fourth, Texting, have won two races since. Stepped up in class on his next start at Newmarket, he hung badly but was still only beaten under five lengths, with horses like Flashcard not far ahead of him. He was dropped 2lb for that effort to a mark of 84 and should take all of the beating against this opposition.
