The Punt Daily: Maddy Playle with three to follow on Sunday

Ffos Las: stage the West Wales National on Sunday

BANKER

Scarpeta (3.20 Fairyhouse)

Willie Mullins won this race last year with Al Boum Photo and I think he can do so again with Scarpeta.

This ex-Mark Johnston inmate has progressed hugely in three runs over hurdles, recording RPRs of 124, 137 and 149.

Paul Townend has plumped for stablemate Duc Des Genievres, but Scarpeta beat him last time when finishing third to Samcro in the Ballymore, and I think he can do so again.

EACH-WAY PLAY

Cailleach Annie (4.35 Ffos Las)

Has took a long time to come good over fences but was a decent hurdler, as she showed when beating the now 153-rated Speredek over the smaller obstacles two years ago.

She was unlucky over 3m6½f two starts ago at Exeter when stumbling two out when in the lead and in the end was only beaten just under six lengths.

She finally got off the mark over fences at Uttoxeter last time and looks potentially well handicapped off a mark of 113 – I'm convinced she has more to give over marathon trips in heavy ground.

DARK HORSE

Jaisalmer (3.45 Plumpton)

This looks a really competitive renewal of the Sussex Champion Hurdle and although plenty of these have really attractive profiles – such as Imperial Cup winner Mr Antolini – I'm going to side with Jaisalmer.

Mark Bradstock's gelding won over course and distance on his penultimate start before beating Gary Moore's Distingo at Fontwell last time.

That rival has since bolted up in a good novice hurdle at Kempton and has been raised 8lb. Jaisalmer is proven in these conditions and has more to give off a mark of 132.
