STAT ATTACK

Mr Medic (1.40 Newbury)

Robert Walford has his team in flying form, with his last four runners posting form figures of 11U2. The Dorset trainer has one runner today – Mr Medic – who was an easy winner at Exeter last month and should go well in this 2m4f handicap chase despite a hefty rise in the handicap.

DARK HORSE

Comber Mill(3.30 Ludlow)

Alastair Ralph’s five-year-old ran his best race for new connections in a first-time hood when a creditable fourth in a novice hurdle over course and distance last time out. The son of Le Fou should be competitive off a mark of 94 sporting the same aid in handicap company with talented conditional jockey Fergus Gregory booked to ride.

EYECATCHER

Carp Kid(5.45 Chelmsford)

Richard Hannon’s son of Lope De Vega stayed on nicely from the rear of the field on his third start in novice stakes company at Kempton last month. A mark of 70 appears fair and he can run a big race on nursery debut with Sean Levey in the saddle.
