Showing ability in four starts for Tom Lacey, Vengeance made good progress from the rear of the field to finish second at Fontwell on his stable debut for Harry Whittington. Today's longer trip will suit on that evidence and his opening mark of 104 is another positive to his chances. He remains unexposed and in-form jockey Daryl Jacob's presence in the saddle seals the deal.

Black Gerry(2.05 Fontwell)

Ending last season with a victory at Fontwell, Black Gerry made a winning return at Exeter last month. Pulling 13 lengths clear with the eventual second shows the value of the form and a 7lb rise for that performance is far from harsh. He remains a useful prospect over fences and as a half-brother to Grand National winner Minella Times, this new trip should pose no problem to him.

Do You Think(3.05 Fontwell)

Going over fences at a marathon distance worked the oracle for the Emma Lavelle-trained Do You Think, he was a gutsy winner at Hereford in November. An 8lb rise by the handicapper asks a question, but this is just her second chasing start and she has plenty of potential over this new trip. A track like Fontwell will suit a horse who excelled at Hereford and she can remain unbeaten over fences.
