Prolific performer over the last few seasons who rarely runs a bad race, including when second in this 1m½f conditions event last year. That renewal was run on a surface that was markedly quicker just off the rail (deep on the inside) and Ryan Moore, who had been riding abroad but returned to partner Oh This Is Us, was clearly unaware of the conditions. Despite going up the inside in the straight, Oh This Is Us wasn't beaten far behind Hathal, who was receiving 3lb from Richard Hannon's runner and only picked him up close to home. Oh This Is Us went on to land three races last year and clearly retains all of his ability. He returns after a three-month layoff here, has form figures of 013122 on his seasonal reappearance and gets the assistance of Jamie Spencer.

DARK HORSE

Jack Berry House(7.30 Wolverhampton)

Caused an 80-1 shock when scoring on his debut and sole start for Mick Easterby two years ago but is winless since and is on his third trainer. Has shown plenty of signs of promise off his falling mark recently, though, and has been well supported ahead of his two starts since undergoing a wind operation. Hasn't troubled the judge on either occasion but he looks to be crying out for a longer trip and finally gets that today. Jack Berry House now drops in grade, is partnered by the in-form Ben Curtis and has blinkers applied for the first time.
