Formerly with Dermot Weld in Ireland, where he won one of four starts, Asdaa immediately suggested he was well handicapped off a mark in the low 80s with close-up finishes at Southwell and Newcastle on his first two starts for Mark Johnston before battling gamely in defeat to finish second to a rival completing a four-timer on his penultimate outing. Asdaa duly got off the mark last time out at Chelmsford, setting the pace from the outset and quickening clear to win readily at the line, and much of the same is expected here, albeit it is harder to make every yard at this track. A 5lb rise in the weights certainly won't be what stops him.
