This three-year-old's handicap debut was not without promise at this track last time and he is fancied to go well this evening. Tacitus, trained by Brian Meehan, kept on late and was only beaten a length and a half in seventh last month in a stronger race than this, with connections subsequently withdrawing him from the Tattersalls HIT sale. He posted his best RPR of 75 that evening and finished second to the now 89-rated Tasfeeq in a Bath novice in the spring. Tacitus is a potential improver after just four starts and a mark of 72 may not be beyond him.
