Champagne Platinum wasn’t having a cut at his fences at Newbury last time when his jumping was affected by the heavy ground. Nicky Henderson’s four winners since 2010 came into the race in sparkling form, but he rates this gelding highly.

Good Boy Bobby had a fine tussle with Mister Fisher (who was receiving 5lb) last time in a reliable Cheltenham event in which Champagne Platinum was tailed off. That race has produced four winners of this and he sets a strong standard.
