Sweetspots: Wholestone looks hard to beat for Twiston-Davies

Credit: Harry Trump

Nigel Twiston-Davies has a 23 per cent strike-rate in this period in the last five years and he runs Wholestone, who makes his handicap debut in the 4.10. The trainer won this with a similar type last year.

When Kevin Ryan and Kevin Stott combine at York, they operate at a 23 per cent strike-rate. Syphax goes in the 2.05 for the pair. His only try over this distance was in the Dante where he was seventh and he is worth another go.

Richard Hughes and Stephen Cummins operate at an impressive 67 per cent strike-rate when combining at Kempton. They have two rides on the card with Let’s Be Happy looking to have the best chance in the 9.15.

Native Optimist has won three times from 11 starts at Hexham. The softer surface should be in his favour and he can add to his course record.
