This is a good time of year for Clive Cox, who has an above average strike-rate with his runners two weeks either side of today’s date for the past five seasons. He saddles Snazzy Jazzy (2.25) at Newmarket and this unbeaten colt should appreciate the trip and ease in the ground.

James Doyle is in good form and has seven rides at Newmarket, the pick of those being newcomer Sea Of Class (5.20). The regally bred daughter of Sea The Stars has an Oaks entry and should be ready to do herself justice on debut.

Roger Varian and Jack Mitchell boast a 23 per cent strike-rate when teaming up at Kempton and do so with Pivotal Man (7.15). The three-year-old would have learned plenty from a debut fifth over course and distance last month.
