Sweetspots: strike-rate would make it rude to ignore Guest

42 per cent at Ripon. That rises to 56 per cent when they team up, as they do with Cape Coast in the 7.45.

Backing all David O’Meara’s horses on their handicap debuts would have yielded a profit of £59.08 to a £1 stake, with a 17 per cent strike-rate. Lamloon makes his first start in handicap company in the 3.50 at Ayr.

David O’Meara has an 11 per cent strike-rate with his runners. However, with the addition of a first-time hood that increases to 20 per cent, four from 20. Lathom, who goes in the 4.25 at Ayr, is tried in the headgear.

Nick Mitchell and Gavin Sheehan have strike-rates of 20 and 18 per cent at Worcester. That rises to 50 per cent when joining forces, as they do with Glanvilles Guest in the 5.40.
