Sweetspots: Newland’s charge can Steal The Show at Wincanton

Richard Newland has a healthy strike-rate at Wincanton (38 per cent) and he relies solely on Stole The Show in the 3.20. He has been turned out again quickly and is looking to double up after winning at Fontwell six days ago.

Miss Benefitz – who runs in the 2.00 at Sedgefield – will be looking to maintain Dan Skelton’s 31 per cent strike-rate with his recruits from other yards. The mare has had a wind operation since she last ran and could improve.

Jockey David Noonan has a 67 per cent record at Sedgefield and will be hoping to enhance that aboard Red Giant in the 4.30. He returns after 206 days off but with the drop in trip and ground conditions to suit, he is capable of a bold show.
