Sweetspots: Maoi Chinn Tire can pay for Candlish’s long trip

Credit: Harry Trump

Jennie Candlish strikes at 24 per cent with those making a 200 mile-plus trip. She sends a couple 243 miles to Musselburgh and the best of those may be Maoi Chinn Tire in the 8.10.

Karl Burke and Clifford Lee boast a 50 per cent strike-rate when combining at Haydock. They team up for three rides but the pick of them may be Burrishoole Abbey in the 3.30, who was highly rated as a juvenile and won well last time at Ayr.

Go Far was awarded the 4.55 Goodwood last year in the stewards’ room. He is just 1lb higher in his repeat bid and has the assistance of useful apprentice Joshua Bryan.

John Gosden strikes at 18 per cent with two-year-old debutants and is 6-15 (40 per cent) with such runners at Haydock. Dichato may reward support on his first start in the 2.55.
