Sunday's free racing tips: our tipping maestros pick through the day's cards

Handicappers' nap

Cristal Spirit (3.28 Plumpton)

Up 6lb for recent Fontwell success, but remains well treated on the form of last season's wide margin Lingfield win and should be hard to beat.

Speed figures

Atrafan (3.15 Southwell)

Got up close home over 6f at Newcastle on Friday and this lightly raced six-year-old can complete a quick double over this longer trip.
Dave Edwards

Sunday's race previews:

2.25 Plumpton: 'When we bought him I thought this would be his race' – Sussex National quotes

2.50 Fairyhouse: Salsaretta gives weight to Shattered Love in cracking Grade 3 mares' chase

Ace tipster

Salty Boy (2.25 Plumpton)

Stayed on strongly for third in the Tommy Whittle last time, again hinting a marathon trip is what he wants. Gets that now.
Paul Kealy

Spotlight nap

High Up In The Air (2.58 Plumpton)

Disappointing on his chase debut at Lingfield in November but that was over 2m7f and he resumed his progress with an all-the-way win at the same track over 2m last time. Another 5lb higher here but he's open to more progress and is a big player on this step back up to 2m3f.
Ben Hutton

Dark horse

Salty Boy (2.25 Plumpton)

Stayed on well into third over 3m1½f at Haydock last time out, shaping as if this step up in trip will suit. Handles soft ground and should be capable of making an impact off this mark.
Jake Aldrich
