Stamina test on stiff sure to play into this stayer's hands

No. 3

4.45 Exeter
1pt win at 6-1 generallyExeter lost their last two meetings and the grounds is going to be incredibly deep this afternoon and that could make favourite Colt Lightning vulnerable.

He has won his last two at Hereford, which is relatively sharp compared to this stiff test, which will be made more stamina-sapping by being run over 165 yards further than advertised. It will probably take him at least 40 seconds more to win this race than last time and he's got a 13lb higher mark and 11st 13lb to deal with.

Clondaw Bistow has been running very well lately, finishing third over 3m1f at Plumpton on heavy ground and a close fourth (beaten just over three lengths) in a considerably better race than this at Ascot in February.
