Sportsmanship can be rewarded at Naas as War Front colt looks all quality

Sportsmanship was only sixth of 12 on his debut at the Curragh last month but I can't help but think he will end up being the best colt in the race and he simply has to be backed in the 6f maiden (2.30) at Naas on Sunday.

I was on analysis duty for that aforementioned maiden at Flat headquarters and I went out to the parade ring to have a look at the dozen runners beforehand. Sportsmanship was the most imposing individual and towered over most of his rivals.

The War Front colt, whose dam is half-sister to US champion three-year-old filly Surfside, was buried in the middle of the pack by Emmet McNamara but, by the time daylight appeared, the birds up front had flown. He was not knocked about and I fully expect to see a different Sportsmanship at Naas.
