Spirit can provide festive cheer for Henderson at Kempton
Newmarket: David Milnes

Others to follow

Huntingdon 1.40 Potters Sapphire
North: Richard Young
Waiting Patiently (3.05 Kempton, nap)
Unbeaten chaser and strong-travelling sort who hasn't been out since landing a Grade 1 at Ascot in February but goes well fresh and has been pleasing his trainer in recent weeks. Bred to be suited by the step up to 3m and fancied to land his biggest prize yet.
Others to follow

Lambourn: James Burn
Lough Derg Spirit (1.20 Kempton, nap)
This race looks perfect for the talented Nicky Henderson-trained six-year-old who promises to be a better chaser than hurdler and will relish 2m4½f around this track.
Others to follow
Fontwell 1.15 Manning Estate.
Huntingdon 12.35 Deyraan De Carjac
Kempton 12.50 Mister Fisher, 1.55 Santini, 2.30 Buveur D'Air, 3.05 Might Bite, 3.40 Penn Lane.

West Country: Tim Mitchell
Perform (2.00 Wincanton, nap)
Useful hurdler at best but hard to keep right and as a result has been lightly campaigned over fences. Fancied to make the most of a reduced mark and back up a decent effort at Sandown last time with a promising amateur in the saddle.
Others to follow
Fontwell 12.15 Bonza Girl, 3.00 Lizzie Langton, 3.35 Druids Folly.
Kempton 1.20 Warthog, 1.55 Bags Groove, 2.30 If The Cap Fits, 3.05 Thistlecrack, 3.40 Erick Le Rouge.

Racing Post Ratings: Steve Mason
Sheriff Garrett (2.05 Sedgefield, nap)
Looked much improved for the fitting of a tongue-strap when winning easily at Hexham this month and looks up to defying a rise in the handicap.
Topspeed: Dave Edwards
The Sweeney (3.40 Kempton)
Finished a respectable third over course and distance last month and, with improvement anticipated, he can add to his tally.
Longshot: Dave Revers
Crievehill (2.10 Wetherby)
Progressive handicap chaser who should be well suited to this left-handed, galloping track. Drying ground will aid his cause and the six-year-old has a good each-way chance in a competitive race.
Ireland: Tony O'Hehir
City Island (12.40 Leopardstown)
Successful on his hurdling debut at the Galway festival in August, the Martin Brassil-trained five-year-old makes plenty of appeal and gets the vote to score under Mark Walsh.
The Raceform Interactive nugget
A six-year-old has won the 1.20 at Kempton six times in the past nine years, including the last four. Nicky Henderson has won three of those and saddles Lough Derg Spirit, who has undergone wind surgery and looks sure to be a leading player.
