Spear finds the target as Keystroke falters

Flaming Spear traded at 90 in running on Betfair on his way to winning the mile handicap at Newcastle, but the one to take from the race is Keystroke. Despite failing to find cover and being bumped a couple of times, Jeremy Noseda's colt travelled like a good 'un and was backed down to 1.31. However, he faded into fourth close home having been done at 1.01 to make the frame.

Colin's Brother was also done at 90 before winning the 2m handicap chase at Ludlow. Baltimore Rock, who was badly hampered four out, traded at a low-looking 1.52.

Cliff (1.02) was another to travel well, but he found much less than had looked likely in the 6f handicap at Newcastle and was mugged close home by Ad Vitam (100).
