Signposts: Elliott to help with repeat win
Shyron landed the first running of Lingfield’s Class 2 handicap (3.40) in 2016 and bids to win the race again today. He can compete from a 2lb lower mark this time around, is equipped with a first-time visor and has the in-form Jane Elliott taking off 7lb.
Trainer Robin Dickin has an impressive record when reaching for the cheekpieces and Get Involved gets the aid for the first-time in the 3.50 at Newbury. Interestingly there was some on-course money for the horse last time out at Cheltenham when clipped in to 40-1 from 100-1.
It’s worth noting Henry Oliver’s handicap debutants as the stable has a strike-rate of 35 per cent with such horses – nine winners from 26 runners. Generous Day goes in the 1.50 at Doncaster and is James Davies’s only ride.
