Handicappers' nap

Eligible (5.15 Goodwood)

Stayed on nicely and clear of the rest when third at Leicester last time. Earned a career-best RPR of 76 for that and there could be better to come now handicapping.

Newmarket nap

Norma (4.45 Goodwood)

James Fanshawe's filly ran into a decent type when second at Salisbury last time and has since moved well on Warren Hill.
David Milnes

Eyecatcher

Eligible (5.15 Goodwood)

Had finished well held in his two runs as a juvenile but there was some support for him in the betting and he took a sizeable step forward. Slowly into stride, he was off the bridle before many but he stuck to his task well. He's likely to stay at least a mile and there should be races to be won with him once he moves into handicaps.

Speed figures

Nuits St Georges (3.40 Goodwood)

Knuckled down gamely to score on easy ground at Nottingham last month and should not be inconvenienced by this step up in trip.
Dave Edwards

Spotlight nap

Orin Swift (3.40 Goodwood)

Effective with varied tactics, he was runner-up over course and distance on soft ground on his final start last term. He reappeared with a win at Nottingham and found only the very classy hurdler Agrapart too good at Ascot, again of soft ground next time. He's edging up the weights all the while but has to be on the shortlist.
Ben Hutton

Dark horse

Suegioo (3.40 Goodwood)

Down in grade and has performed well on soft ground in the past. Trainer Ian Williams is in good form and warrants each-way respect.
David Revers

Must-have stat of the day

Oromo (3.20 Perth)

Trainer Karl Thornton has had four winners and a second from seven runners in Perth handicap hurdles. Oromo makes appeal in the 3.20, who won on his only previous visit to the track.
