Sandown Placepot picks: Paul Kealy has two bankers on a star-studded card

Plenty of the favourites at Sandown have really solid chances, so it might not be wise to go in with too big a Placepot perm.

The opening Coral Charge (1.50) is one of the more competitive heats, though, so main fancy is joined by , who ran a blinder when fifth in the King's Stand after a long absence.

is certainly the right favourite for the next (2.25) and should win if repeating his Hunt Cup form, but a steady gallop for one likely to be held up worries me, so I'm adding , who might get an easy lead.

The unbeaten does look banker material for leg three (3.00) as she has the change of gear to get out of trouble if she needs to, while in the Coral-Eclipse (3.35) and are the obvious two.

In the fifth (4.10) I can't have Chairman as favourite from the widest draw, so the selections are Electrical Storm, who won with any amount in hand on his return from a long absence last month, and Protagonist, who makes his debut for the in-form William Haggas.

That just leaves another 1m2f handicap (4.45) in which is a confident selection. The Sir Michael Stoute-trained filly took time to get going when they sprinted for home at Nottingham, but she got there just in time and finished full of running. She should relish this uphill finish.
