Sandown Placepot picks: Dave Randall selects the Wednesday perm
Three places are available in the nine-runner 5f handicap that opens the Sandown card (1.50) and Sir Benedict, who goes well on soft ground, is the first of two in-form course-and-distance winners to be chosen, along with Phoenix Star, who features off a favourable mark.
Elwasme and Sir Laurence Graff have already shown promise and should be suited by the underfoot conditions in the mile juvenile novice (2.25).
Leadenhall is the pick of three debutants representing Ralph Beckett in the 7f juvenile novice contest (3.00). The well-bred Kingman colt is out of a Group 1-winning dam who won over 7f on her debut.
Three-year-olds are 8-28 in the feature Listed Fortune Stakes (3.35) since 2009. Bayside Boy is the only three-year-old entered and course-and-distance winner Magical Morning is added with only two places up for grabs.
Belhaven is another course-and-distance winner worth having onside in the mile fillies' handicap (4.10) and I'll Be There should be suited by the conditions after a break on her handicap debut.
Savrola and Moonis are relied upon in the 1m2f three-year-old handicap (4.40) that concludes the perm. Savrola sets the form standard under the conditions and Moonis should appreciate the drop back in trip on his second start in a handicap and his first since a gelding operation.
