Sandown Placepot: Paul Kealy tackles a tricky and classy card

It's not the easiest Placepot card at Sandown with so many unexposed three-year-olds in action and the opener (1.20) is a real minefield.

My two would be , who impressed on the drop to 5f on his final start at Windsor last season, and , who did well to win here after a slow start last summer.

My main fancy and Dante entry are my two in the next (1.50) and I'm not sure I want to bank on Mostahdaf in the Gordon Richards Stakes (2.25).

It's been a while since made the running, but there's probably a free lead available to anyone who wants it and Sandown is a dangerous place to get one.

There are question marks about in the bet365 Mile (3.00), but she does need to be a long way below form to finish out of the first two, so I am happy enough to bank on her.

is solid enough in the next (3.35), but I'll add too as there are only six runners and all are unexposed.

That just leaves a big field of three-year-old novices in the last (4.10), plenty of whom have shown fair form, while some of the unraced ones have Oaks entries.

It's difficult, but shaped with more promise than the end results suggests on her debut over an inadequate 7f last season, while the fact Frankie Dettori prefers all-weather winner to the impeccably bred Darmoiselle is persuasive enough.
