Quality veteran Monksland prepped for Thurles success
Newmarket: Anthony Burke
Musaahim (8.45 Chelmsford, nap)
Put in an eye catching effort last time at Kempton where he was staying on to be placed. That run came after a short break and will be all the sharper for that effort. Fancied to be in the mix here.
Others to follow
Chelmsford 5.45 Tranquil Soul 6.15 Dukhan 6.45 Bath and Tennis 7.15 Always Thankful 7.45 Cainhoe Star 8.15 Masonic.
Lambourn: James Burn
Thomas Shelby (2.40 Southwell, nap)
Chasing has always been this six-year-old's thing and the prospect of decent ground and an opening mark of 115 should help him go close.
Others to follow
Chelmsford 6.15 Mutanaqel, 6.45 Cwynar, 7.15 Ariena, 8.15 Mach One, 8.45 Steaming.
Southwell 4.15 Le Dauphin, 4.45 Bridge Of Cally.
North: Colin Russell
Quids In (4.35 Ludlow, nap)
Showed progressive form as a juvenile, notably when a fine fifth in a competitive Sandown handicap on final start. Will be all the better for a recent run on the Flat and a good run is expected on return to hurdling.
Others to follow
Carlisle 2.15 Donna's Delight, 2.50 Nortonthorpelegend, 3.20 Nuts Well, 3.55 Barrys Jack, 4.25 Landmeafortune, 4.55 Durbanville.
Chelmsford 5.45 Faradays Spark, 6.15 Communique, 7.45 Waarif, 8.15 Honey Badger, 8.45 Assiduous.
Southwell 2.05 Midnight Walk, 2.40 Miami Present, 3.45 Wot A Shot, 4.15 El Massivo.
Topspeed: Dave Edwards
Cainhoe Star (7.45 Chelmsford)
Has made steady progress this season being successful on three occasions and despite the attentions of the handicapper, Anthony Carson's three-year-old may not have finished winning yet.
West Country: Andrew King
Drinks Interval (3.35 Ludlow, nap)
Did her job well at Newton Abbot last time and connections are more than hopeful she is up to defying her penalty here.
Others to follow
Ludlow 1.55 Sgroppino 2.30 Mount Oliver 3.00 Floresco 4.05 Triptico 4.35 Peruvien King.
Southwell 2.05 Bubsy Burbidge 3.10 Ballyknock Cloud 3.45 Free Bounty.
Racing Post Ratings: Simon Turner
Monksland (4.30 Thurles)
Quality veteran who can go well fresh and finished last season in good form. Good chance at these weights if ready to go and should go close.
Longshot: Ed Quigley
Grand Coureur (4.05 Ludlow)
Unexposed sort who is off an attractive mark over fences, and could go well with first time cheekpieces applied.
Ireland: Tony O'Hehir
Monksland (4.30 Thurles)
The Noel Meade-trained ten-year-old has not won over hurdles since scoring a third Grade 2 success at Leopardstown in December 2012. He has been mixing chasing and hurdling in recent seasons and finished fourth in the Coral Cup at Cheltenham in March on his most recent hurdles start. He prepped for today's 2m6f event when finishing third behind Pallasator in a charity race at Punchestown a week ago and looks to have plenty going for him.
