Point winner can hit the Rite note after shaping encouragingly at Thurles

Trainer: David O'Brien
4th, 2m maiden hurdle, Thurles, March 5
This seven-year-old made a somewhat belated hurdles debut and achieved more in this performance than he had in any of his point-to-points.

He chased the pace and made some nice headway to close up before the turn into the straight, and while he could make no real impression on the leaders from the second-last, he kept going quite well. That he was only beaten four and a quarter lengths was not a bad performance at all.

The son of Dansant managed to win just one of his seven point-to-points and undoubtedly showed a good deal of improvement here. Winning an ordinary maiden hurdle looks achievable and he should be able to step up in trip too. He might just have a future.

Another promising type making his debut for Joseph O'Brien, this is probably a typical slow-learning Australia colt.
