Librisa Breeze: a step back up in trip to seven furlongs could prove beneficial
Librisa Breeze (grey): twice stopped in his tracks in the LennoxCredit: Alan Crowhurst

Librisa Breeze
Dean Ivory
9th, Goodwood, August 1
This grey was twice stopped in his tracks when trying to weave through the pack in the Group 2 7f Lennox Stakes. Despite suffering in-running hardship he was beaten only three and three-quarter lengths and was still able to register a RPR of 111. It’s reasonable to believe the interference cost him at least a couple of lengths so he appears to be in similar form to last season when he defied a mark of 108 to win a valuable Ascot handicap. He could be able to gain compensation in the Hungerford Stakes at Newbury.

Quench Dolly
John Gallagher
Won, Goodwood, August 3
If you're looking for a sprinter to follow for the rest of the season this is the one. This speedy filly, who had faded inside the final furlong over 6f previously, relished the drop back to the minimum distance, and ridden more patiently than usual she unleashed a striking finishing burst at a crucial stage to put this contest to bed. She is rapidly climbing the weights, but when a sprinter gets on a roll they can swiftly move through the grades and the manner in which she won this handicap suggests she is capable of making an impact at Listed level.

Tommy G

2nd, Goodwood, August 5
The four-year-old gave his backers a good run for their money in this competitive sprint. He was always close to the pace and fared the best of those horses who kept towards the stands’ side. He seemed to appreciate the easy ground and on this evidence is suited by a strongly run 6f. His stable likes to target next month’s Ayr Gold Cup meeting so he may now be trained with a view to peaking in a race at that fixture.
