Glorious Goodwood Placepot picks: Paul Kealy provides his perm on day one

The opener (1.50) is going to be just about the hardest race for Placepot punters to get through on day one at Goodwood.

is the one to beat in the Lennox (3.00), but I'm not banking on a hold-up horse over 7f at Goodwood, so last year's winner goes in too.

There must, as usual, be doubts about Trueshan's participation in the Goodwood Cup (3.35), so I'd advise playing late, but in his absence I'd be happy enough banking on , who won the Gold Cup on merit.

I'm quite strong on in the next, but there are only three places for Placepot purposes, so , who shaped nicely on his first run since being gelded and isn't badly treated on his best form, gets the nod too.

Quite ridiculously, a maiden (4.45) is the final leg on ITV, and my two against the field would be and .
