Ring a ding ding, it’s first-season trainer Jimmy Ting, again.
The rookie has made a fantastic start to his career, registering 11 winners from his first 37 runners, at a strike-rate of 30 per cent.
He has rejuvenated many stale old equine minds since taking out his licence, and they include Trendiful (1.45), who looks the one to beat in the Class 5 handicap over six furlongs.
The form book shows that Trendiful has won only two of his 46 starts in Hong Kong, yet he showed signs that the Ting touch had already taken effect with his last start third over five furlongs.
The eight-year-old may have had to work a lot harder than was ideal to be up front on that occasion, and the return to the six is going to give him a little more time to get into the right racing rhythm.
In-form jockey Karis Teetan takes over from Derek Leung on this well-handicapped sprinter.
Perfect Glory (3.15) looks a cracking prospect, and should be one of the best bets on this midweek card.
He appeared to have plenty up his sleeve when going strongly to the line in his debut at the Valley on October 10, having gained an inside opening very late, at the expense of Jade Theatre (3.50), who gets another chance in a later race today.
Perfect Glory, by Snitzel, won three from three in Australia before being shipped out to run for trainer Caspar Fownes. He is a good ride for Chad Schofield.
Jade Theatre is one of Zac Purton’s best rides, having drawn gate one in a Class Three Handicap over six furlongs.
