Paul Kealy provides his Tote Placepot perm for Haydock
I've always wondered why the Tote Placepot doesn't cover every single race on the card in Britain, but I sure wouldn't like to have a go while we have these mammoth racedays – just two in each race on Haydock's ten-race card would give you 1,024 lines!
The first six are going to be hard enough, but ought to go well for Ed Walker in the first (12.45). There's 19lb between his turf and all-weather rating, but even on his best grass efforts – and he hasn't had many – he's not badly treated.
He'll come on for his recent sixth, and just over 50 per cent of Oisin Murphy's rides for the yard (20-39) have hit the first three, ten winning.
We're back to just two places when there are seven runners, so we'll play it safe in the novice (1.15) with Vedute, who boasts easily the best form of those to have run, and the impeccably bred Darvel.
In the sprint (1.45) I expect to go well with the ground quickening up, while has his first crack at 6f in two years, but the way he starts (slowly) and finishes (strongly) suggests he could find more for it.
In the next I'd be inclined to leave out hat-trick-seeking Fortune And Glory now he's on a career-high mark and the suggestions are (good second last time and run well here both starts) and (well treated on best form and not beaten far last time).
In the 2.45 I'll bank on Returnofthemac, who did it with plenty to spare at Pontefract ten days ago and is 3lb well-in under his penalty, while in the last leg (3.15) I'm keen to take on the head of the market and will go with and .
