Paul Kealy provides his Tote Placepot perm for a tricky Wincanton card

Credit: Edward Whitaker

The Tote's Placepot insurance (money back up to €/£10 if your perm goes down in the first leg) is at Wincanton, and the opening contest (1.20) is certainly hard enough.

Steady The Ship has been improving steadily, though, with his best run coming at this track last time. Olly Murphy's string is now back in excellent form so Fabrique En France can be expected to improve on his debut effort at Leicester, especially given he's had a wind op in the interim.

Supreme Escape relished the heavy ground when scoring at Chepstow last month and there ought to be more to come now he goes back up in trip in the next (1.50).

The dead eight is a worry, but I'm still inclined to bank on him and hope that we don't get any non-runners.

In leg three (2.20), the likely absence of Global Fame, who was down to run at Chepstow on Wednesday, complicates things. Without him the selections would be Brinkley, who has to be better than he showed last time, and Ashfield Paddy, whose two best runs have come on heavy.

Mister Murchan and Lamanver Bel Ami are my two in the fourth (2.50), while the consistent Rosie And Millie should be hard to kick out of the two in the next (3.20).

I'm definitely taking on favourite Cyclop given his poor course form in the finale (3.50). Limited Reserve and the improving Nearly Perfect are my two to complete the perm.
