Paul Kealy provides his new year Placepot perm at Musselburgh

Tote are refunding stakes up to £10 if you are eliminated in the first race of the Placepot at Musselburgh (T&Cs apply) and that makes the bet there quite tempting.

The Donald McCain-trained Fiveandtwenty ought to be really hard to kick out of the frame in the opener (12.45), although that will be reflected in the market.

Rated 81 on the Flat, she was really well backed on her debut here last month and skipped home 26 lengths clear of her rivals. She could be a well above average juvenile.

Sebastopol is a fairly strong fancy in the next (1.20), but Newtown Boy, an easy winner here last time and still 1lb lower than when fourth in the Class 2 on this card last year, is added.

Hazzaar could well improve in first-time cheekpieces in leg three (1.55), while Rosie And Millie has been running well lately in better races and should be on the premises again.

Exit To Where, one of the youngest horses in the next (2.30), looks well worth including. He couldn't back up his October win at Kelso back there the following month, but that was in better grade over a trip that would have been short enough.

Brotherly Company, who has been running well since the summer on differing grounds, goes in too.

Garde La Victoire should run well in the fifth (3.05), while there is every chance this sharp track will suit Red Risk more than Ascot last time.

Whiskey Lullaby looks like being fairly short for Paul Nicholls in the last, but she doesn't look anything special nor particularly well treated, so I'll take her on with the in-form Arnica and Bullion Boss.
