Newmarket Placepot picks: Tom Collins shares his perm for Wednesday's card

Four novice events kick off the afternoon card at Newmarket, which provides punters with a make-or-break dilemma: do you try to play safe with two selections in each race or gamble with bankers?

The opening 7f novice (1.00) looks wide-open and caution is advised. Social Contact showed plenty of ability on debut at Newcastle and looks the form play, while Cityscape filly Centrallia could sneak into the frame on debut for Ralph Beckett.

Beckett saddles another intriguing first-time starter in division two (1.30) in Hither, a daughter of New Approach out of Hereawi, who finished second on debut at this track in 2015. She is selected alongside Indy Moon.

Charlie Appleby and Godolphin can cap off a phenomenal season with Noble Order, who makes his debut in the 7f novice (2.05), and Al Nafir, the banker of the afternoon in the 1m2f maiden (2.40).

There was little to dislike about Wind Your Neck In's recent Salisbury strike and an opening mark of 86 looks fair. The David Evans-trained juvenile is chosen alongside High Fibre, who should appreciate the step up in trip, in the 1m2f nursery (3.15).

Improving filly State Occasion and the lightly raced Random Harvest provide a strong hand in the closing mile fillies' handicap (3.50).
