Newbury bumper duo primed to run their best in valuable contest

Credit: Edward Whitaker

Tara View's won her last four starts - a bumper and three hurdle races - and this has been her target for some time. She's in very good form and I hope we don't get too much rain as I think she's at her best on good ground.

I also hope for a decent effort from Cajun Fiddle, who has been pretty consistent this season, winning once and in the frame every time.

Timoteo is worth another chance. He was a bit disappointing at Doncaster last month but he'd been a good second at Bangor the time before and the first and third have both won since. I don't feel we've seen the best of him.

He's in good form and, although 1m5f round Lingfield would be a minimum for him, I'd love to get another run into him before the turf season.

Harefield was a very encouraging second on his debut at Exeter. He's been pleasing me at home and having had a run is a big advantage in a race like this.

Deyrann De Carjac is one we really like. He had been due to make his debut in January but had a setback and couldn't run, so he has to start here. He's always shown plenty but I'd love to have given him a run.
