Nap of the day: best horse racing tips from the day's five meetings
Monday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team
Bath
3.55: Blue Hero
Never Said Nothing isn't easy to win with but he's still a leading contender at a track he has won at in the past. Mabo, Accrington Stanley and the class-dropping Fitzrovia all enter calculations but Blue Hero (nap) is on a roll and he can complete a quick course hat-trick.
Paul Smith
Gowran Park
5.25: Fennor Cross
Stepping up to this trip may help Fennor Cross (nap) to show further improvement after finishing strongly in his two victories over a mile. He handles easy ground and can complete the hat-trick. Muntahez ran well over hurdles last week and could be a danger while Plunkett and No Show are capable of getting involved as well.
Mark Nunan
Plumpton
4.15: Royaume Uni
Gary Moore's Royaume Uni (nap) comes here soon after a pleasing effort on the Flat and he appeals as the type to raise his profile this season. He ran well in better handicaps than this last season. Peterborough, off his lower hurdle mark and from a stable having winners, may be next best.
Alistair Jones
Pontefract
3.30: Thunderclap
The step back up to 1m2f looks the right move for the 3yo Thunderclap (nap), who stayed on strongly for third over 1m here a fortnight ago, and he can add to his two 1m AW wins in August. He takes on several consistent rivals and perhaps Where's Jeff will be the chief danger having been placed behind progressive winners the last twice. Last month's Beverley winner Sudona is another likely player.
Ben Hutton
Wolverhampton
5.30: Come On Linda
Top of the list is Come On Linda (nap), who did clear best of the closers when going very close from a wide draw at Chelmsford nine days ago and is on the same mark here. Second choice is the unexposed 3yo Visions Of Glory, who travelled strongly for a long way on his handicap debut at Newcastle and looks interesting on this drop back in trip. Others to consider are Outtake and Manumission who both finished well to snatch third in AW handicaps last time.
