Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's three meetings

Thursday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Chelmsford

8.30: Wadacre Grace

Top of the list is the Johnston-trained WADACRE GRACE, who has found more progress over 1m in her last two runs, including a close call off the same mark at Southwell last week. The main threat could come from six-time Polytrack winner Brains, who is on a dangerous mark and didn't get much luck when favourite at Wolverhampton last time. The other one on the shortlist is Deep Sigh, who had a near-miss over course and distance on her penultimate run.

Southwell

5.05: Politics

A few hold chances but POLITICS made an eyecatching start for Mick Appleby when a strong-finishing runner-up at Wolverhampton and is a confident selection to go one better off the same mark, with this return to 6f also promising to suit. Course-and-distance winner Another Bertie (second choice) could prove the chief threat, with Coolagh Magic and King Of Speed two more who need factoring in.
