Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings
Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team
Bangor
12.53: Harper's Brook
In what looks a very interesting novices' handicap the suggestion is Harper's Brook(nap), who ran very well in defeat in a competitive race on last month's chasing debut at Carlisle. Barrichello also made a pleasing chasing debut last month and is earmarked as a likely danger, while it will be very interesting to see how Sir Psycho and Wild Romance fare on their first runs since November 2020.
Chris Wilson
Doncaster
2.22: Nothin To Ask
The vote goes to Nothin To Ask(nap), whose Chepstow form has been boosted and who can make light of an 8lb rise. Rocky Lake also made quite an encouraging start over fences and he can give Fergal O'Brien's charge most to do.
Andrew Sheret
Gowran Park
12.00: Minella Cocooner
A Grade 1 winner over hurdles, Minella Cocooner (nap) gave the impression he was a chaser in the making with his slick, measured jumping last season and he may be hard to beat if he does have more to give in this sphere. Journey With Me could resume progress on his return and Folcano has looked promising in a couple of chase starts so far.
Phill Anderson
Newbury
1.55: West Balboa
Challow runner-up West Balboa(nap) is taken to go one better on her reappearance. She's likely to improve further this season and should comfortably cope with an opening mark of just 127. Walking On Air, a similar type, is feared most ahead of Peking Rose and Petit Tonnerre.
Steve Boow
Newcastle
12.30: Captain Quint
The very lightly raced 6yo Captain Quint(nap) created a good impression when winning on his chase debut over 1m7f at Hexham and he could be even better now back up in trip. Twoshotsoftequila was a soundly beaten fourth in the Hexham race but should be better served by this longer distance and he could be the chief danger. Broadway Joe can run his usual solid race, while the ex-French 6yo Fix At All is an interesting contender on his first run since wind surgery.
Ben Hutton
Wolverhampton
7.20: Le Cheval Rapide
Plenty of possibles but none appeals more than Le Cheval Rapide(nap), who rattled home from a poor position at Kempton earlier in the month. He had tumbled down the weights before that revived effort, which was predicted by the betting, and remains well treated despite a 3lb rise. Maylah, Autumn Angel, Crocodile Power and Say Grace all have something to recommend them but the main danger to the selection could come from Ramdon Rocks on his first run for Alice Haynes.
