Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings
Thursday selections from Clonmel, Fontwell, Newmarket, Perth, Salisbury and York
Thursday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team
Clonmel
6.55: Shantou Lucky
It was a much improved effort from Shantou Lucky when getting off the mark at Down Royal last time out and with this longer trip likely to yield improvement, a 6lb rise might not be enough to stop him going in again. Porky Rush is respected on handicap debut and Mick Mixy showed a bit more last time out.
Phill Anderson
Fontwell
5.55: Olympic Honour
Nye Bevan is unpenalised for last week's win at Worcester and has a pretty obvious chance to complete a hat-trick but he wasn't far ahead of a keeping-on Olympic Honour on that recent outing and the latter might turn the tables here. Evan Williams' 5yo is effectively 2lb better off today and, furthermore, remains very well handicapped on some of his older form. Course specialist Magical Thomas has much more to prove, but he's also on a very good mark.

Newmarket
6.40: Aaddeey
It's likely there's more to come from Aaddeey so a 2lb rise for his very good reappearance second in a big field at Newbury doesn't look enough to prevent him going one better here. The reappearing Rodrigo Diaz was very progressive when racking up a hat-trick on the AW last year and is the obvious danger if as effective on turf.
Andrew Sheret
Perth
3.00: Whoshotwho
Richard Newland had an excellent strike-rate at Perth and Whoshotwho is 5lb ahead of the handicapper having returned from a long layoff with a fine second at Warwick ten days ago. He's taken to go one better with Roxboro Road feared most, despite having shot up the weights following his spring hat-trick. Niven needs to leave his latest run behind but is worth a crack at 3m.
Ben Hutton
Salisbury
4.25: Joy Choi
Youllovemewheniwin is well ahead of his mark after an emphatic win at Bath ten days ago but this is a stronger race and on different ground. Danzart and Alphonse Karr are respected but Joy Choi impressed on her stable debut 13 days ago and she can make it 2-2 as a sprinter.
Paul Smith
York
2.40: Brunch
The vote goes to Brunch, who finished nicely to win two competitive handicaps here last summer and looks a solid proposition back at this venue, especially as he made an encouraging start to his 2021 campaign with a good effort in the Lincoln. Matthew Flinders is feared most, ahead of Artistic Rifles and Johan. King Ottokar and Ouzo would be interesting if the ground is on the soft side, while 2019 winner What's The Story is hard to dismiss.
