Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings

Picks at Ascot, Haydock, Newcastle, Navan, Lingfield and Wolverhampton

Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Ascot

1.15: L'Homme Presse

Second-season chasers Messire Des Obeaux and Pencilfulloflead (second choice) have plenty going for them, but it was hard not to be impressed by the manner in which L'Homme Presse(nap) disposed of his rivals on his chasing debut at Exeter and Venetia Williams' 6yo is selected to take the rise in class in his stride.
Richard O'Brien

Haydock

11.50: Chti Balko

Haydock brings out the best in last year's runaway winner Chti Balko (nap) and he can take advantage of a 6lb lower mark. Useful Flat performer Green Book is an obvious danger on his handicap hurdle debut, especially if jumping with greater fluency than was the case over C&D last time. The lightly raced Firak could go well for Dan Skelton.
Ben Hutton

Lingfield

3.40: Reset Button

Despite returning from another absence, Supersonique is worth keeping an eye on as her pedigree suggests she will appreciate the longer trip, but it's hard to get away from Reset Button(nap). He looked progressive when off the mark at Wolverhampton last time and the form has already received a couple of boosts. Perfect Match looks best of the others.
David Bellingham

Navan

2.55: Handsworth

Though his strike rate is off-putting, Handsworth (nap) has a more progressive profile lately than most of these and is taken to get off the mark at the 20th attempt. Time And Times should be on the premises again, while Siberian Star is expected to be in the thick of things again. At a bigger price, Howaya Aoife could threaten to hit the frame at least.
Mark Boylan

Newcastle

1.05: Tango Boy

This may well go to Tango Boy(nap), who never won over hurdles but caught the eye on occasions in some good handicaps and 2m was never likely to be far enough on last month's chase debut. Houston Texas may improve but the most likely danger is Bavington Bob.
Alistair Jones

Wolverhampton

6.00: Lihou

Tone The Barone will appreciate the return to AW and has a big run in him, while the classy Exalted Angel should make a bold bid of conceding the weight to his rivals. Lihou(nap) should be sharper for a recent run at Southwell, though, and this could set up perfectly for him.
Paul Smith
