Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings
Ayr, Downpatrick, Dundalk, Kempton, Newbury and Newton Abbot fancies
Friday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team
Ayr
3.20: Call Me Ginger
The Jim Goldie-trained Call Me Ginger(nap) has hit form and, having been tricky to win with previously, can complete a hat-trick today having done it cosily at Doncaster last time.
True Mason has been showing promising signs this season and could be the chief danger, ahead of Danzan who has performed highly creditably in big-field handicaps this year. The return to Ayr could be a plus for two-time C&D winner Pearl Of Qatar and she's an interesting each-way candidate. Ventura Express and Pockley are others to consider.
Ben Hutton
Downpatrick
3.10:Clondaw Hollow
John McConnell is well represented here by two recent winners at this venue and Clondaw Hollow(nap) should prove hard to beat.
Dundalk
8.15:Clew Bay
Course-and-distance winner Mokhles is respected but Clew Bay (nap) should relish this trip and gets the vote
Kempton
6.00:Allerby
For a humble 0-70 this looks a very warm race with several runners of interest. Top of the list is Allerby(nap), who ran a cracker over 1m here on her penultimate start and also ran well on her only other AW outing. Emraan returns to AW on a dangerous mark and is feared, while Liger King, Phuket Power and Capla Dream all have something to recommend them.
Paul Smith
Newbury
4.35:Neenee's Choice
End Result's Salisbury flop at a short price in July can be written off, with her finishing lame, while there are reasons to expect a better showing from Kattani, who finished a clear second in this last season off a 4lb higher mark. The progressive pairing of Neenee's Choice (nap) and Dartington stand out, however, with preference for the former, who's lightly raced and fancied to give 3yos a third win in the last four renewals.
Graham Wheldon
Newton Abbot
3.38:Sergeant
After earning his stripes with an emphatic C&D win last month, Sergeant (nap) can defy the 9lb rise. Easkey Lad is next best with Balzac also in with a chance.
Jonathan Neesom
