Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings

Thursday bets for Chelmsford, Lingfield, Market Rasen, Sandown and more

Thursday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Chelmsford

7.10: Cedar Cage

This looks a good opportunity for the lightly raced Cedar Cage (nap), who shaped well over course and distance last time to win his second race. The chief threat could turn out to be El Conquistador, who was progressing well on the AW until seeming unsuited by the switch to turf at Yarmouth.
Richard O'Brien

Lingfield

2.10: Steel An Icon

The return to this trip should see Triple Nickle take closer order again, while the hat-trick seeking Highway One is very much respected given her last two performances in this code. However, Steel An Icon (nap) is clearly at home when conditions underfoot are slow, goes well over this trip and can take advantage of a handy 3lb drop.
Jonathan Doidge

Market Rasen

4.00: Lord Getaway

Minella Voucher is ahead of the handicapper after his good recent effort at Ffos Las and is interesting on his first attempt at a marathon trip but this race looks a very good fit for Lord Getaway (nap), who recorded his career-best RPR at this track and has placed form at up to 3m5f. James Evans' nine-year-old ran well last month after a break and remains well handicapped. Prolific chase winner Bafana Blue is next on the list.

Sandown

7.55: Reverential

Preference is for Reverential (nap), who continues to show ability and looks open to improvement on this second turf/handicap start. Second choice is Topanticipation, who returns to the scene of her peak effort. Handicap debutantes Atavique and Urban Violet also warrant respect, especially if conditions are muddy.
Steve Boow

Wolverhampton

5.10: Mostaqqer

Topweight Mostaqqer (nap) may well have more to offer in the retained cheekpieces, while Born To Sire ties in closely with that rival on course-and-distance form two starts ago. They are the top two on the shortlist, with Act Of Magic third choice. Market support for handicap debutante Ile De Brehat should be noted.
Steve Boow

Tipperary

2.35: Glory For Molly

There was lots to like about what Glory For Molly (nap) showed last time as a 250-1 chance at Cork and she can prove that was no fluke, favoured over Leac An Scail Lady and Newtown Pery – both rivals with the ability to win a race such as this.
