Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings
Friday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team
Chepstow
4.00: Sonigino
For all that See The Sea is highly likeable, some of today's rivals are probably better handicapped. Sonigino has dropped in the ratings for a reason but there were some seriously promising signs from him last season when evidently a work in progress. A subsequent wind operation could be key. Nina The Terrier and Holly - feared in that order - are mares with plenty of upside on entering their second seasons over hurdles.
Alistair Jones
Downpatrick
3.42: Sam's Choice
Twice second to the same Willie Mullins-trained horse last season, Sam's Choice can now beat the stable's runner Inclusion, whose Ballinrobe second appears to represent solid form.
Alan Sweetman
Dundalk
5.00: Freedom Falls
This looks like a good opportunity for Freedom Falls who drops back in class here after a couple of big runs at the Curragh and she ought to be capable of conceding weight to these. Tea Tree Bay could be the main danger if she settles better. Any support for Malleymoo could be significant on debut.
Phill Anderson
Newcastle
8.15: Blazing Hot
Preference is for dual course and distance winner Blazing Hot, who finished well to go close at Pontefract on his recent stable debut and is on the same mark on this return to Tapeta. High Security wasn't far behind the selection two weeks ago and could be a big danger if he gets the breaks, while course specialist Another Angel is respected after his creditable third here last week. Another to consider is Joshua R, who has run plenty of good races at this track this year and looks interesting on his second run after a break.

Newmarket
4.10: La Yakel
The professional performance to win a valuable 1m4f race at Ascot on his handicap debut showed major improvement from La Yakel and suggested there is more to come from him. First Ruler was a close third that day, having been sent for home over two furlongs out, and he may prove the chief threat this time, ahead of Sea King on his step back from 1m6f. Simply Sondheim is fascinating at the bottom of the weights, having registered the first of his six wins off a mark of just 56 and given plenty of hope for this new trip when scoring in good style twice in August, but he might be best on ground softer than good.
Richard Austen
York
3.15: Streets Of Gold
The leading contender is Streets Of Gold, who is unbeaten in his four starts including a big-field nursery here and a valuable sales race in Ireland in his last two runs. He sets the standard on those wins and has given the impression that he could do even better at this new trip. Shouldvebeenaring and Coco Jack are the main form dangers, although Tyrone's Poppy is on a roll after three wins in a row and he's an imposing type who is open to more progress. Another who could be in the mix is Peter Chapple-Hyam's unexposed colt Defence Of Fort.
