Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's seven meetings
Tips for Newmarket, Ffos Las, Thirsk, Goodwood, Hamilton and elsewhere

Down Royal
5.15: Scenic Look
Gordon Elliott's Come On Du Berlasi has superficially attractive form figures. However, her claims are less substantial than those held by Scenic Look, whose hurdles run at Galway may have come too soon after her Flat win earlier in the same week. Game Beaaa should be in the mix again following a good run at Tramore. Princess Sophia has a chance on her best bumper form.
Alan Sweetman
Ffos Las
4.57: Commander Hector
Chris Wall's 3yo Commander Hector came from an unpromising position to dead-heat with a next-time-out winner on his handicap debut three weeks ago and today's extra 2f can unlock further improvement. Vissani began his British career with two very underwhelming runs this summer but he ought to be better suited by today's much longer trip and will be feared if strong in the betting. Jacovec Cavern may also feature.
Chris Wilson
Goodwood
7.15: Canoodled
All six hold some sort of chance. Canoodled has been starting slowly but they might not hang about here, the recent rain is a blessing and there's a race in her off this mark. She had both Alpha Cru and Celtic Empress behind her at Haydock. New Heights is feared most.
Alistair Jones
Hamilton
6.18: Canterbury Bell
A competitive contest where the suggestion is to stick with Canterbury Bell, who may not have finished winning just yet. Pink Carnation may be able to get back on track and would be a danger if doing so, while The Flying Ginger and Typical Woman are not ruled out.
Jonathan Doidge
Newmarket
2.00: Makinitup
Most of these carry risks of one sort or another but yesterday's rain has almost certainly helped the unexposed Makinitup and she can build on an encouraging run at Haydock three weeks ago. Light Lily and Senorita (second choice) are others who will have benefited from the softening of the ground. The reliable pair Piastrella and Verreaux Eagle should be thereabouts as well.
Richard O'Brien
Thirsk
2.55: Intrinsic Bond
Plenty are in with a shout. Pendleton is weighted to go well if on his A-game after a break and sole 3yo Parisiac commands lots of respect on the back of his breakthrough handicap success at Doncaster. Baba Reza is an outsider to consider but this could rest between the thriving duo Intrinsic Bond and Good Earth who came home 1-2 in the Great St Wilfrid at Ripon (race already starting to work out well) and can repeat the dose here.
Peter Entwistle
Tipperary
4.15: Mount King
Paulliac should be okay over the trip and sets the overall standard on form, but the only one of these that is potentially progressive is Mount King after his promising Galway debut. This looks a good opportunity.
