Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's seven meetings

Friday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Doncaster

3.55: Rum Cocktail

It could be a while before the assessor catches up with Rum Cocktail (nap), who scored at Goodwood two weeks ago and remains very well treated on the bare form of her two-year-old novice success. Sandbeck is second choice, ahead of Havagomecca and Ballintoy Harbour.
Steve Boow

Sandown

4.05: Addeybb

It's possible the highly admirable eight-year-old Addeybb (nap) isn't the force of old, but this four-time Group 1 winner doesn't need to be to win this, and he was an encouraging third in a course-and-distance Group 3 on his reappearance. Harrovian (third), Regal Reality (fourth) and Foxes Tales (sixth) are closely matched on their Royal Ascot clash and perhaps Regal Reality will be the main danger back at a course where he has a good record. Passion And Glory is another who could run well.

Newton Abbot

2.30: State Crown

Returning topweight Champagne City was in good form last year and should be on the premises if primed to go after his break. However, dual course-and-distance winner State Crown (nap) is 2lb below his last winning mark and the return to this track is a big plus. He gets the vote ahead of recent course winner Clearance, with Krypton Gold best of the others.
Keith McHugh

Wexford

5.45: He's Leading Me On

Having been narrowly denied on his last two starts, He's Leading Me On (nap) should be capable of getting his head in front from a lenient looking handicap mark, despite another 2lb for his latest second. The big danger is Search For A Myth if she handles the drop back in trip. The reserve, Strong Roots, can give another good account if she gets in.
Phill Anderson

Bellewstown

6.00: Lakota Seven

An eyecatching second to a better-fancied stablemate at Down Royal, Lakota Seven (nap) is now confidently expected to go one better and confirm that form with Brazilian Song. Thunder Bear and Roman Hands could prove bigger threats.
Alan Hewison

Haydock

7.08: True Jem

The Dunkirk Lads (second choice) bounced back with a clearcut win at Nottingham 18 days ago and he's respected off his revised mark. The lightly raced Tothenines won a maiden last month and should have more to offer back in a handicap but preference is for his stablemate True Jem (nap), who really kicked on again with her comfortable win on soft ground at Goodwood and that form has been boosted by the placed horses since. Another who could be in the mix is Bryan Smart's gelding Bond Power.
David Moon

Beverley

8.23: Scottish Dancer

In what looks a weak race, the three-year-old handicap debutant Scottish Dancer (nap) has to be of major interest given the form of the novice event he contested at Newcastle last time. Let Her Loose looks much the most solid option among his rivals, but Whitcliffe ran well here two starts back and it's possible to argue that last week's shock winner Calculus can follow up.
