Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's seven meetings
Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team
Beverley
1.30: Outrun The Storm
After his fine second at Newmarket on his latest start, Outrun The Storm(nap) looks to have a sound chance of going one better, with the in-form pair of It Just Takes Time and Barney's Bay his most likely threats.
Colin Russell
Cartmel
5.40: Vocal Duke
Snookered (second choice) looked good when winning here last time and the 5lb rise certainly doesn't rule him out. All three of Jimmy Moffatt's representatives here finished adrift in that race, having been set a fair amount to do. Vocal Duke (nap) had an excuse as he was hampered early on and the way he finished that race suggests he may well be the answer to this competitive contest. Jamacho and Mandocello are just two of the others to consider.
Jonathan Neesom
Curragh
5.25: Hasten Slowly
A competitive nursery. Top-weight Karaoke was workmanlike when scoring at Dundalk and looks the type that can win one of these. Just behind her though on her Gowran debut was Hasten Slowly (nap), who settled better when winning a maiden at Leopardstown last time and can follow up here.
Justin O'Hanlon
Goodwood
5.20: Secret Shadow
The 4yo filly Secret Shadow(nap) was a flop in the Old Newton Cup at Haydock when last seen eight weeks ago but was sent off at just 6-1 for that major handicap following a promising reappearance over C&D. She has strong claims if that latest run can be forgiven. Aggagio is feared most, with a recent creditable run under his belt and two wins at this track earlier in the season on soft ground.
Richard Austen
Newmarket
2.45: Woolhampton
It's unlikely that many of these have serious pretensions of winning. Eddie's Boy has the strongest form claims but this is a first attempt at 6f and he has to give weight all round. Woolhampton (nap) is not only 5lb better off than when chasing him home in the Super Sprint, but Rod Millman's likeable filly might just prove the stronger stayer at this trip. Boy Browning and Amichi won their latest races in smart style and are not to be passed over lightly.
Alistair Jones
Redcar
7.50: Isle Of Dreams
Aconcagua Mountain needed every yard of the 5f when winning here on his recent stable debut and is open to further improvement back at 6f, but progressive filly Isle Of Dreams(nap) is thriving at present and she's another who could have untapped potential over this trip.
Chris Wilson
Windsor
3.55: Cherish
The unexposed Silver Bullet Lady could take a step forward returned to 5f and with headgear enlisted. She is high on the shortlist, along with the progressive Rhubarb, but Cherish (nap) looked on the way back here last time and she can gain her eighth career success.
