Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's seven meetings
Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team
Doncaster
4.00: Chrysos
Mojomaker went desperately close here in the spring and if the cheekpieces have the desired effect he should be bang there once again. Twelfth Knight had been making good strides prior to his midfield finish in a hot Newmarket handicap 23 days ago and he can also feature but Chrysos (nap) may be the answer. He has few miles on the clock and his close fourth at Newmarket on his first run over 6f was full of promise.
Paul Smith
Galway
5.20: Fennor Cross
There are any number of dangers but it may pay to stick with the likeable Fennor Cross (nap) who has won four of his last five and promises to be suited by stepping up in trip. Alma Libre and Kojin should go well and the two British raiders, Aqwaam and Kaaranah, add further intrigue.
Mark Nunan
Goodwood
3.20: Chil Chil
At last Chil Chil (nap) gets her chance in a top handicap, having missed the boat in the Wokingham and this race last year because of soft ground. The six-year-old may seem to have a mighty task with her big weight but she does not look overburdened on her most recent handicap form last spring, let alone her close third in a Group 1 in the autumn, and Harry Davies's claim takes off a handy few pounds. Inver Park goes from strength to strength for his new yard and may be the main danger, although there are likely to be good runs from last year's consolation-race winner Mr Wagyu, Great Ambassador if back to last year's best handicap form, Popmaster and the 2020 winner Summerghand. Whenthedealinsdone is also of interest despite the question mark about the trip and so is Lampang who has been in the form of his life this year.
Emily Weber
Hamilton
9.00: Temper Trap
Now that she is off the mark course-and-distance winner Lochnaver is respected off 5lb higher, while Zealous ran even better than it looked last time and could figure if taking another step forward. However, three-time course-and-distance winner Temper Trap (nap) has dropped to an attractive mark and should make a bold bid to win this race for the third year in a row.
David Bellingham
Lingfield
6.15: G'Daay
Several have possibilities but the most striking contender is G'Daay (nap), who raised his form to a new level with his course and distance win last month and was only narrowly denied off today's mark at Chelmsford last time. The main threat could come from Clive Cox's lightly raced three-year-old Dark Swansong, though Blue Flame has run well over 7f on Polytrack in his last two starts and he's respected. Others who could be dangerous are Light Lily and Mr Tyrrell.
David Moon
Newmarket
3.35: Azure Blue
The two to concentrate on could be Razeyna, who looks unexposed as a sprinter, and Azure Blue (nap), who ran a cracker when fourth in a big field at the July meeting. Michael Dods' three-year-old also created a favourable impression on her previous three outings this term and can regain winning ways. Third choice, after a valid excuse on her latest start, is Helvetique.
Richard O'Brien
Thirsk
2.38: Hilts
The latest Haydock second of Hilts (nap) looks a strong piece of form in the context of this race so Jedd O'Keeffe's charge gets the nod to land a third success of the season. The main threat may come from Ralph Beckett's handicap newcomer Matched, with confidence in his chance increased should the betting vibes be strong. Auntie Margaret and Amalfi Bay are also on the shortlist.
