Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's seven meetings
Tips from Hexham, Kempton, Market Rasen, Pontefract, Windsor, Limerick & Tramore
Hexham
2.52: Real Armani
A big field, but lots are very hard to make a case for, and Real Armania (nap) is taken to defy a 5lb rise and complete a quick course and distance hat-trick. The consistent Cudgel came up just short behind Jane Walton's likeable front-runner last time and a similar scenario is on the cards again. Little Orange and Shanroe Street appeal as the pick of the remainder and can fight out minor honours.
Peter Entwistle
Kempton
7.20: Quarenta
Quarenta (nap) posted new career-best performance when scoring at Ascot (3m, soft) on seasonal debut in November and his defeat in a heavy-ground Listed handicap over that course and distance the following month can be overlooked. Will be fine on today's ground and is now only 3lb above his last winning mark; good chance.
Chris Wilson
Market Rasen
6.00: Giovanni Change
In receipt of weight from all of his rivals, Giovanni Change (nap) is taken to follow up his recent course success. Several of his main dangers have to bounce back after lesser displays, but Supakalanistic, Really Super and Shinobi have better claims than their latest flops suggest, and Tight Call won't be far away if matching his latest form.
Stuart Redding
Pontefract
1.30: Venturous
The start will be crucial, as Justanotherbottle has developed a habit of rearing in the stalls and, if he does that from the rail draw as the gates open, it will give a big boost to the chances of the front-running Caspian Prince in stall two. However, preference is for Venturous (nap), who has enjoyed a fine all-weather campaign and has a 7lb lower turf mark to work with.
Ben Hutton
Windsor
3.40: Della Mare
Sarah's Verse stays further and the strong pace in a big field round stiff Bath suited when she had Fard and Delagate The Lady well behind two weeks ago. Today's easier course from the outside stall provides a different test off a 4lb higher mark and this looks good for Della Mare (nap), who's lightly raced and potentially well handicapped having come away with two subsequent winners on the all-weather last time.
Graham Wheldon
Limerick
3.45: Definiteadare
Very few of these have the credentials to win, so it seems best to stick with the obvious and go with the recent course winner Definiteadare (nap) who looks well-in even with a 5lb penalty. Amlad can give him a race, though, while Anno Maximo is of interest also.
Tyrone Molloy
Tramore
6.40: Wake Up Early
Terrible stuff, even for the grade. Hard to fancy anything but a token vote goes to Wake Up Early (nap), a beaten favourite here early last year who needs to jump slicker. School Lane could prove the danger.
