Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's nine meetings

Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Carlisle

1.09: The Raven's Return

Given he was clear of the others with a progressive rival, The Raven's Return (nap) seems rather fortunate to have escaped with just a 2lb rise for last month's Wincanton win. We know he is also effective on this stiffer track and goes well for Molly Landau, so this looks a good opportunity for him to complete a double. Zafar has enjoyed a productive season and is still on a workable mark. Follow Your Arrow can also feature.
Chris Wilson

Cork

2.50: Comfort Line

A cracking contest with big handicap performer Fastnet Crown taking on horses coming back from stakes company such as Pale Iris and Admiral Nelson as well as unexposed top-weight Probe. After his fine second in the Lincoln though, the selection is Comfort Line (nap) with ground and a good draw in his favour.
Justin O'Hanlon

Fairyhouse

2.30: Vaucelet

It is difficult to oppose the up-and-coming Vaucelet (nap), who beat Snugsborough Benny here in November and returned with an easy point' win last time. Aloneamongmillions looks best of the others.
Tyrone Molloy

Haydock

4.29: An Tailliur

It's been all good for An Tailliur (nap) during the past 12 months and the lack of a recent run will be no hindrance to the 6yo who has probably been targeted at this race. Who Dares Wins and Sultans Pride should run solid races but neither are that well handicapped, and the dangers could be Imphal and Sirobbie.
Alistair Jones

Lingfield

4.55: Alablaq

There could be a good pace on with Cool Spirit and Pablo Del Pueblo renewing rivalry, though they could do without going off as fast as they did here last time where they ruined each other's chance. They have the ability to figure given a kinder trip, but this can go to Alablaq (nap) who is off the same mark as when gaining his only success (over C&D in January) and drops into a 0-70 for the first time. If they do go a good pace up front, that would be to the benefit of Soyounique.
David Bellingham

Musselburgh

4.22: Gowanbuster

The pick is dual C&D winner Gowanbuster (nap) who ran his best race for a while when second at Newcastle last time. Despite her poor draw Rose Bandit should also go well.
Colin Russell

Newbury

3.00: Perfect Power

Flaming Rib and Gubbass are the two who lack a 2,000 Guineas entry. Perfect Power (nap), like them, is unraced beyond 6f but that does not look a problem given the way he shaped last term. He rounded off that campaign with two Group 1 wins, as did Angel Bleu but while the latter did so over 7f and 1m, that was on heavy and very soft ground, so today's conditions underfoot give him a bit more to prove and he is therefore second on the list behind Richard Fahey's charge. Lusail also brings serious 6f form but he ended his first season on a low note.
Richard Austen

Newton Abbot

2.49: Light Em Up Nigel

This can go to Light Em Up Nigel (nap), who sets a clear standard on his close second behind a well-backed favourite at Exeter last month and is open to more improvement. Harry Fry's San Giovanni could resume his progress back on quicker ground after a short break and he's feared most, ahead of Zucayan, who was runner-up in three bumpers and has reached the frame in both his hurdle runs.
David Moon

Nottingham

7.45: Lucky Lucky Lucky

Only eight runners but most of them have something to recommend them. At opposite ends of the weights Sandbeck and Gabriella's Spirit are both of some interest, while Coup De Force and Pepper Streak could both feature. Lucky Lucky Lucky (nap) should be sharper with a recent run behind him and his Newcastle second in November looks a very solid piece of form. He's still got more to come too.
